Renewed Roots: Love Life and Live Long

Random Question…

Daily writing prompt
Do you think everything happens for a reason?

Everything? I think that is a bigger topic than I would have originally thought. Everything means, 100%. Did a bird fly into a window for a reason? Was there a purpose for that? That could be one form of a “reason.” Now, if that bird flew into that window because of a reflection, a natural occurrence, then that also becomes a “reason.” It depends on the nature of this question. Are we talking about a higher purpose for all things that occur? Or, are we saying this higher purpose perpetuates the “daily life” occurrences that seem potentially accidental or meaningless. If the later part of that is what is meant by, “Do you think everything happens for a reason?” is what they are referring to by asking this question, then for sure, I would agree with that. IF the divine purpose is not the intention in that question, then we are saying this bird was either suicidal, stupid, or this reflection was really deceiving, so therefore, that becomes the reason. But, would it fly into this same window if there was no reflection, or, if there was a a sticker outside the window cutting off the reflection. If not, then, the prior flying into the window was just an unfortunate occurrence for the poor sweet bird. Now, if that bird was being hunted by an intelligent hunter, such as let’s say a human, and they, knowing that birds will often fly into a window with a reflection, then, if that was a staged reflection by this hunter, then we are back to that having a deliberate purpose.

This can be a deep question…
